Nationals Schedule

Make sure you check with the beach marshall if any changes have been made for the day you compete.
The NSW team will have a team meeting on Monday, 17th Oct for those of you who are already in Kiama. It will give you a chance to collect hoodies, caps and check- in with team management.Meeting will take place at Surf Beach Caravan park at the function room near the pool at 4pm.
For those of you who haven’t returned an entry form to me, please bring a completed form with you when you check –in.
Presentation on the Friday night will more than likely be relocated to Coronation Park (opp. Surf Beach) due to higher than expected numbers attending. You will advised via text message closer to the date.
The IBAA presentation night is on Sunday the 23rd. Please advise me when you check-in if you will be attending as it is a catered event.
Cronulla Pro and NSW State rd results
Finals day saw the Women Pro and State Finals take place with Lilly Pollard netting an impressive 12.66 combined heat total, more than doubling her competitors final scores in the Pro Women division.
Nicole Flemming lucked out in the Pro division but in the State Final her clean barrel ride saw her stamp a 7.9 giving her 1st place over Laurie Marie Vee and Taylor Allen who placed 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Cronulla>>PRESS RELEASE
The second round of the NSW State Bodyboarding Titles presented by Sutherland Shire Council in conjunction with Surfing NSW gets underway next week in Cronulla. The event runs from Thursday July 14 to Sunday July 17 over four action packed days in and out of the water.
All the action kicks off of Thursday morning with the Rebel Sport Cronulla Pro the 6th event on the Rebel Sport National Tour carrying a 3 Star Rating for Men, 2 Star DK and 1 Star Women and $7000 in prize money.
Over four days the best bodyboarders in the State will compete in Round 2 of the NSW State Titles for valuable points towards entry to the National Titles in October at Kiama. With some of the Australia’s best bodyboarding talent on show it’s going to be visually spectacular for all.
This year’s event will be like no other State Titles you have ever seen and will feature a back lot event in conjunction with the action in the water. Thanks to Jay at Swarm Bodyboarding and Straight Up Records the back lot in Dunningham Park will feature some of the best home grown bands over Friday, Saturday and Sunday like Hand Of Mercy and Relentless.
[And remember it’s a No Alcohol & Drug Free Event]
Along with plenty of international food vendors onsite, new season bodyboarding gear from TURBO, Manta & 4Play it’s an event for all ages.
So get along to Cronulla and check out the best community event of 2011.
For competitors and their families we have organised some great events with our supporters.
*Thursday is a set up day with 8 different food vendors who will be there for the duration of the event and our bodyboard industry stalls.
*Thursday 14th-From 8.30pm Midori Party at Stone Fish Café with Midori Giveaways Galore. Stone fish cafe are also a dinner sponsor and are offering a great menu with a 10% discount vouchers available for competitors.
* Friday sees cover bands all day, and Friday and Saturday days features a mini half pipe with an expo from BMX Australia and the local SKATEBOARD crew.
*Friday 15th-From 8.30pm at Cronulla Northies Hotel is the premiere for the IBA’s Box Pro documentary followed by Chout and bodyboarding raffles thanks to Turbo and Zion.
*Saturday Sunday hard core music festival all day
*Sunday evening presentation at Dunningham Park followed by an after party at Beach Burrito Restaurant with beer giveaways thanks to VB.

The 2011 Soldiers Beach Pro has been locked in for April 6-9 Pro Men 3 star Pro Women 2 Star Pro DK 2 Star This will allow the riders to make it to WA for the IBA Box Pro on April 11-21 The event will once again be coupled with the first round of the NSW State titles.

How you doing?
Dunno about you, but I’ve been freezing at home lately! Not many waves around these past few weeks, but hopefully some on the way 
So, who is keen for a fun bodyboarding weekend away somewhere a little warmer?
Well, the NSW State Round 2 and Port Macquarie Pro is set for next weekend. The women and junior women and pro women divisions will be held 17-18th July at Town Beach Port Macquarie.

I’m definitely heading up for it, maybe leaving on the 14th July, staying til 18th July. Let me know who is interested in coming!

Port Macquarie Pro & NSW State Titles Round 2
Town Beach Port Macquarie
The NSW State titles will take place from Friday 16th July till Sunday 18th July and will feature around 150 riders from Byron Bay to Eden. (Girls are on the 17th-18th)
In conjunction with the IBAA Port Macquarie Pro event will begin Thursday 15th July and conclude Sunday 18th July with a presentation at Port City Bowling Club. (Girls are on the 17th-18th)

Also, there is a judging course to be held Wed 14th July at Tacking Pt Surf Club (Lighthouse Beach), Port Macquarie.
Anyone who is interested in learning how to judge -whether to help your own competitive bodyboarding, or to become a paid judge, this course is a must!!

Round # 1 – Mandurah Wedge, WA

Mandurah Wedge to host the first EBB State Bodyboard Series Event For 2010.
(Friday, 23rd April 2010): The WA bodyboarding community is currently buzzing with anticipation for the opening event of the 2010 EBB WA State Bodyboard Series, which set to begin next weekend at the now world famous Mandurah Wedge. It has been a long time between drinks since the IBA Australasia National Titles in Queensland last year, and WA’s best bodyboarders have been fine tuning their skills in hopes to qualify for the 2010 WA State Bodyboard Team which will travel back to D-Bah, Queensland in November.
The EBB WA State Bodyboard Series offers WA competitors a chance to compete in some of the best waves the state has to offer, whilst also mixing it up with some of the true professionals of the sport. Mandurah Wedge is a high performance break that has been a mecca for many bodyboarders lately and will surely attract a stellar field of new and exciting entrants, keen to step up to the challenge that the ‘Medge’ so often offers.
Although it has been a pretty wave starved couple of months in the Perth area, the outlook for next week is looking positive, and with this years series travelling to Mandurah, Scarborough and culminating with the EBB Pro in the South-West. Surfing WA Events Manager Justin Majeks is excited about the prospects of the series for 2010.
“WA has been leading the charge in the sport lately and I think it’s important to reward the competitors with the best waves we can. We’d never run an event at the Wedge before 2009 and it was so good that we had to come back.” Said Majeks.
This year’s series will be the best to date with some new sponsors getting behind the event and pushing the future of bodyboarding in WA in the right direction.
“The response from the sponsors has been simply outstanding, we have more people onboard this year than ever before, which Im sure will make for some stoked kids come finals time.” He continued.
Mandurah Wedge and the surrounding breaks provide some of the most consistent and contestable waves in the whole metro area and with the sand moving in to position nicely at the Wedge, event officials are looking forward to an awesome opening round of competition.
Entries for this event closes on Wednesday 28th May and are filling up quickly, so be sure to get in quick to avoid disappointment.
